WHEREAS, KNOWDYN is committed to advancing the science of science while safeguarding its intellectual property rights;
WHEREAS, the content provided by KNOWDYN represents a significant investment of intellectual effort, creativity, and resources;
WHEREAS, by visiting, browsing, or accessing any content from KNOWDYN’s websites or affiliated platforms (hereinafter referred to as "KNOWDYN Content"), users acknowledge their agreement to the terms herein;
NOW THEREFORE, this "Fair Knowledge Agreement" (hereinafter referred to as the "Agreement") establishes the terms and conditions governing the use of KNOWDYN Content.
1.1 KNOWDYN Content: Any and all information, material, and intellectual creations available on KNOWDYN websites, including but not limited to text, graphics, images, videos, designs, data compilations, and software.

1.6 Proper Attribution: The clear and conspicuous acknowledgment of KNOWDYN as the source of content, including a direct hyperlink to the original content where feasible.
Article 2: Ownership and Scope of Rights
2.1 KNOWDYN retains full and exclusive ownership of all Intellectual Property Rights in and to KNOWDYN Content.
2.2 Access to KNOWDYN Content does not confer upon users any ownership rights, licenses, or permissions beyond those expressly granted in this Agreement.
2.3 Users are prohibited from claiming authorship, ownership, or any proprietary interest in KNOWDYN Content.
Article 3: Permissible Uses
3.1 Non-Commercial Educational and Informational Use: Users may create Secondary Derivatives of KNOWDYN Content solely for:
Academic research,
Teaching or educational purposes,
Personal enrichment or informational use.
3.2 All Secondary Derivatives must:
Be accompanied by Proper Attribution to KNOWDYN,
Include a disclaimer that the work is a derivative and not endorsed by KNOWDYN.
3.3 Users may print, download, or reproduce limited portions of KNOWDYN Content for personal use, provided such use is non-commercial and does not infringe upon the Intellectual Property Rights of KNOWDYN.
Article 4: Prohibited Uses
4.1 Unauthorized Reproduction: Users shall not copy, reproduce, or distribute KNOWDYN Content in its entirety or substantial parts without prior written consent from KNOWDYN.
4.2 Creation of Primary Derivatives: Users are prohibited from creating Primary Derivatives of KNOWDYN Content unless expressly authorized in writing by KNOWDYN.
4.3 Commercial Exploitation: Users shall not use KNOWDYN Content or its derivatives for any Commercial Use without obtaining prior written consent from KNOWDYN. This includes but is not limited to:
Selling KNOWDYN Content or derivatives,
Using KNOWDYN Content in advertisements or promotions,
Integrating KNOWDYN Content into commercial products or services.
4.4 Automated Data Extraction: The use of bots, crawlers, or other automated mechanisms to harvest or scrape KNOWDYN Content is strictly prohibited.
4.5 Misrepresentation: Users shall not represent KNOWDYN Content or derivatives as their own or falsely imply endorsement by KNOWDYN.
Article 5: Requesting Permissions
5.1 Users seeking to engage in activities requiring KNOWDYN’s written consent must submit a formal request to ipcontrol[@]knowdyn.co.uk.
5.2 Requests must include:
A detailed description of the intended use,
The specific KNOWDYN Content to be used,
The purpose and scope of the use,
Contact information for the requesting party.
5.3 KNOWDYN reserves the right to grant or deny permissions at its sole discretion and may impose conditions or fees for approved uses.
Article 6: Attribution Requirements
6.1 Proper Attribution must include the following elements:
A clear acknowledgment of KNOWDYN as the source,
A direct hyperlink to the original content (if online),
A statement indicating that the content is used under the terms of this Agreement.
6.2 Attribution must be displayed prominently in a manner that does not mislead the audience about the source or ownership of the content.
Article 7: Enforcement and Remedies
7.1 KNOWDYN reserves the right to monitor and investigate unauthorized uses of its Content.
7.2 In the event of a breach of this Agreement, KNOWDYN may pursue one or more of the following remedies:
Issuing a cease-and-desist notice,
Revoking access to KNOWDYN Content,
Seeking monetary damages or equitable relief,
Initiating legal proceedings under applicable laws.
7.3 Users agree to indemnify and hold KNOWDYN harmless against any claims, damages, or expenses arising from unauthorized uses of KNOWDYN Content.
Article 8: Governing Law and Jurisdiction
8.1 This Agreement shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.
8.2 Any disputes arising under or in connection with this Agreement shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
Article 9: Amendments
9.1 KNOWDYN reserves the right to amend or update this Agreement at its sole discretion.
9.2 Users shall be notified of material changes to this Agreement through notices posted on KNOWDYN websites.
9.3 Continued access to or use of KNOWDYN Content after such amendments constitutes the user’s acceptance of the revised Agreement.
Article 10: General Provisions
10.1 Entire Agreement: This Agreement constitutes the entire understanding between users and KNOWDYN regarding the use of KNOWDYN Content and supersedes all prior agreements or understandings.
10.2 Severability: If any provision of this Agreement is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
10.3 Waiver: No waiver of any term or condition set forth in this Agreement shall be deemed a further or continuing waiver of such term or condition or any other term or condition.
